January - For something different, we decided to take a cruise and sailed to Cozumel and Costa Maya on the Independence of the Seas prior to the Piercy family reunion in Ft. Myers.
We got to stop at Costa Maya and took a tour of the Mayan ruins at Dzibanche

February - Teresa's family reunion in Ft. Myers with all 7 brothers and sisters!
Every year, we run/walk the Strides for Education 5k to benefit Lee County Schools (where sister Dianne works).
A week after returning to Colorado, we were lucky enough to go on a hut trip with friends to the Lost Wander Hut. A bit of a shock coming from Florida!
The Lost Wander Hut, about 3 mile hike in from the highway. The hut is stocked with firewood, a propane stove, basic utensils / pots / pans, and solar lights.
Life is what happens between wi-fi signals!
Teresa makes it to old Monarch Pass on her new knee!
During a trip to Taos in February, we happened upon a Native American dance.
If you haven't been to Taos, you don't know Jack.
March - Happy Dogs!
Everyone celebrates my St. Patrick's day birthday party. Apparently, they wanted me to sing along for the Beatle's Happy Birthday song! Thanks to the Riff (and all in attendance) for a great time!
April - Heading towards an awesome ski down Fooses Creek.
Visiting with my dad in Atlanta.
Teresa on the bike!
Teresa and Andrew are members of Salida Sunrise Rotary. Here we are volunteering for the Home and Garden show, one of the club's biggest fundraisers.
May - Teresa on the trail!
Teresa and Andrew headed up to Browns Creek Falls in May. Still plenty of snow on the ground!
Funky and fun art near Grand Junction.
Andrew summited Mt. Taylor on skis at the end of May.
In June, Teresa put together a San Luis valley "kitch" tour which included a visit to the UFO Watchtower.
As a part of our San Luis Valley Kitch Tour, we visited the Colorado Gators Reptile Park. Now a reptile rescue, it started as a tilapia farm in the hot springs water and they fed the scraps to the gators.
Andrew summited Mt. Belford with friends in mid-June

We took a trip to Steamboat over July 4th with friends and enjoyed hunting down all of the springs and mountain biking around the valley as well.
We belly up to the bar at Butcherknife brewing in Steamboat and Andrew shows his best side.
This year, we were blessed with a huge "painted lady" butterfly hatch.
On a visit to Santa Fe in August, we visited Tent Rocks for a great hike up a slot canyon.

August Eclipse from Salida.
On a Labor Day trip to Denver, I "forced" Teresa to visit Casa Bonita, the iconic "mexican" restaurant with questionable food and entertainment. Teresa does not look amused!
We attended the KHEN Halloween party as the "fake news." Here we are interviewing the "real" newspaper reporter.
And we won first prize!
Halloween cookie fun!

Every year, Salida lights up Tenderfoot Hill (aka "S" Mountain) in the shape of a Christmas Tree, forming the world's largest Christmas Tree or so they say. Apparently, some airliners fly over to show the display to their passengers. "Holiday Park" consists of Christmas trees and a Menorah too!
Hiking under the lights of "Christmas Mountain" in Salida.
This Christmas, Krampus caught us for being naughty!

HO HO HO... Oh no! Is it time for the 2017 Holiday Card already!?! Keeping it brief again this year, although you can find more details in the photo captions.

We are doing pretty well, and still loving life in our hometown of Salida, Colorado. We did a few more trips to visit other areas of Colorado this year as you'll see in the photo gallery. Work is still keeping us busy and we are still volunteering for various charities.

We hope this finds you well, and.....

May the Universe smile on all of you with Peace and Happiness!

What a long strange trip it's been...
