  1. It is essential for children to be well rested before the sitting. It is best if your child has gone to bed on time the night before (for the older child, it is best not to have spent the night out or to have had a friend over the night before) and/or that he or she has had a good nap.
  2. Be certain that your child is not hungry or thirsty when he arrives for the sitting. You may bring a non-staining drink such as apple juice (no red fruit punches, kool-aid, etc.) It would be wise to bring a bib also. Small non-staining snacks such as Cheerios are O.K., but keep them out of sight to use only in case of emergency.
  3. Bring a change of clothes. One false step, like into a mud puddle and our sitting would come to a quick end! You may also wish to bring wipe-ups and an old towel or cloth diapers for "droolers."
  4. If we are photographing your child without shoes be sure to avoid socks that fit so tightly they put ridges or indentations around the skin of your child’s ankles. Also, if we plan on doing some nude shots of your baby, please put his or her diaper on loosely to avoid red marks. You may also wish to bring plain diapers without any design or color or a diaper panty cover if the colors and design of the diaper show through your child’s clothing.
  5. Please make sure that you have tried on any new clothing before arriving for the sitting. We want to avoid numerous clothing changes, which take up valuable time and try the child’s patience.
  6. If you wish to bring a special toy or prop, please just let me know and keep them hidden until we are ready to use them. Some children cannot let go of these items once they see them, in which case every picture must be taken with the prop.
  7. If you have any other questions or ideas please give me a call. And remember your child will sense your attitude toward this "adventure." Most sittings are lots of fun so come prepared to be happy, relaxed, and have a great time!
